CBSE, 10th and 12th class  examinations are moving away from its tradition of holding the Board exams in the first week of March, and conducting 10th and 12th class examinations from 2nd week of march ( March 9 to April 29)

to avoid clashes with state poll dates. Five states are going to poll. During the first week of march, two polling dates on march 4 and march 8.

Registered Candidates from cbse increased than last year 2016 in both class 10th and class 12th, About 16,67,573 candidates from Central Board of Secondary Education have registered for the class 10 exams, up from 14,91,371 in 2016, while 10,98,420 candidates have registered for the class 12 exams, up from 10,65,179 in 2016.

From 2018 the CBSE has decided to do away with the dual system, and this year will be last school-based exam for the class 10 candidates. There will be only one public examination for class 10th candidates from 2018. This year 7,82,863 candidates have opted for the school based exam from 16,67,573 class 10 candidates.

RK Chaturvedi is chairman for Central Board of Secondary Education, said the board has adopted several IT initiatives which will be used for faster result processing, so that there will be no delay in the declaration of the results.

The 10th class examinations will  conclude on April 10, 2017, while the 12th class  examinations will conclude on April 29, 2017.

For 12th class candidates, the Board exams start with  English subject, while the next major subject is Physics has been scheduled on March 15. In Last year,  There were some claims of mathematics paper leak as well, which the Board denied the mathematics exam last year, However, the cbse Board has decided to scale down the difficulty level of the mathematics paper this year.

  • According to the CBSE sources, the paper had been designed in the way, 80% paper will be easy, and remaining will be in average and difficult level questions.Earlier the question paper contains  of one, four and six marks questions. But now, only eight -two mark questions in new pattern.
  • mathematics paper is being scheduled for March 20.
  • Chemistry examination has been scheduled for March 25.
  • Accountancy and Economics are on March 29 and April 17 respectively.
